A Black-Tie Hamptons Wedding At Topping Rose House

Mary Klein, a content creator and marketing strategist at ZoomInfo, met Geoffrey Ferguson, founder of Coachman Partners, on Hinge in Boston. The connection deepened quickly, and after two and a half years he proposed during morning coffee at La Bastide Airelles Gordes in the South of France.

The couple imagined a celebration that felt elegant, chic, and timeless while inviting guests to relax as if at a black tie Hamptons house party. Planner Sarah Crowell of Mavinhouse Events shaped that vision into a cohesive experience.

Mary’s fashion choices set the tone. She found her rehearsal dinner look first, an early 2000s Oscar de la Renta discovered at Happy Isles and paired with Aquazzura bow heels. It became the piece that sparked her excitement for the entire planning process.

For the ceremony she commissioned a custom Anne Barge design by combining two gowns. Her sister and maid of honor wore Emilia Wickstead. Later in the evening she changed into a second look styled by Brooke Hasset and finished with Amina Muaddi wedges for the dance floor.

On September 15, 2023, the couple exchanged vows in a white church in downtown Bridgehampton. Mary walked the aisle to “There She Goes” by The La’s with hydrangeas in abundance and a joyful mood throughout.

The reception at Topping Rose House welcomed guests with canapés by Jean Georges, a hand painted cocktail menu by Ink Revival, and a live saxophonist. The first dance to “Thank You” by Dido set an atmosphere that felt refined yet comfortable.

After the cake cutting the party moved into an adjoining barn styled as an intimate lounge. On The Move Entertainment kept the floor full while leather couches, pewter nut dishes, custom matchbooks, and soft cocktail lamps created warmth. Mary circled the room with a silver tray of cake slices so she could greet every guest. The night built to a lively finale as the dance floor stayed packed and bow ties outlasted shirts.
